The Wellbeing Suite
Our inclusion team, made up of: Assistant SENCO Holly Doherty, Home School Link Worker and Learning Mentor Mrs Sophie Thomas and Inclusion lead and Assistant Principal Mrs Andrea Hooton.
This facility is used for one to one or small group sessions that may include but is not restricted to, Wellbeing journaling, take a breath breaks, sensory breaks, pastoral care and mentoring, nurture groups or reward and incentive golden time breaks.
We work with the children using co-regulation strategies in order to support healthy wellbeing in all aspects of mental, physical and relationship health with our end goal to securing a more holistic whole child approach to education.
This facility is not limited to the child at school and we offer support in this field to parents and carers to be able to mirror strategies within the home.
You can contact any member of the team to discuss your child's needs via email to [email protected]
The Sensory Room
The sensory room is used to support children with sensory modulation difficulties or when a child needs some sensory stimulation. All children have access to the sensory room but this is done through either 1:1 with an adult or within a small group with an adult.
The aim of using the sensory room is to enable the child to get back in to a positive frame of mind so they can access their classroom and curriculum successfully.
Alongside the wellbeing studio, support is given to children to teach them some co-regulation strategies in order to support healthy wellbeing in all aspects of mental, physical and relationship health with our end goal to securing a more holistic whole child approach to education.
