Southwold Primary School was delighted to welcome a group of visitors from Kazakhstan to the school last month. The group, which was comprised of head teachers and their deputies, had travelled to the UK on a four-day trip to learn more about values-based education.
Last July, our school was awarded the Values-based Education Mark to recognise our outstanding practice around values-based education. The awarding body, Values Based Education (VBE), subsequently asked us to host educators from Kazakhstan during their visit.
The goal of the trip was to improve the group’s understanding of values-based education and prepare them to adopt the practices at their own schools in Kazakhstan. VBE wanted the educators to visit Southwold to see and explore a school where a values-based education is implemented and modelled to the benefit of all pupils and staff.
During the visit, the educators worked with Southwold’s pupil leadership team, which was described as “inspirational”. Sue Webb, Executive Consultant at VBE, said: “The visitors were really impressed and talked at length about their visit.” They also thanked Southwold for its “truly wonderful work”.
Everyone at Southwold Primary School was delighted to welcome our visitors and show off our wonderful school. We are extremely proud of our practices in values-based education and will continue to implement them to deliver the best outcomes for our pupils.
