Welcome to Year 5 and 6

Mrs Thorpe Year 5 and 6 teacher

A very warm welcome to one and all and welcome to your Sycamore Class Page for year 5 & 6. Here, you will find information about key events, our termly newsletter, curriculum overview, web links, and photos.

I am the Class Teacher, Mrs Thorpe. Mrs Hodsdon, Mrs Ringwald and Mrs Desai are our Teaching Assistants who work with us at different times throughout the week.

I am very excited to be teaching you this year in year 5/6 and helping you to build on your skills and areas of interest, along with the help and support of your parents we will make good progress this year.

Our class is made up of 26 enthusiastic, creative and considerate Year 5 and 6 pupils. In our Class, we respect each other and are proud of each other’s achievements. We work together to create a welcome and warm class atmosphere, where every class member feels valued and loved. I will as always make every effort to meet the needs of every child in my class and endeavour to make this classroom a really enjoyable environment for the children to spend their time in.

Term 3 How do we stay safe?

During term 3, we have enjoyed exploring our big question, 'How do we stay safe?' It has involved many visitors, lots of research by the children and exciting activities taking place in school. Each class made their own themed safety video. Here is our class videos:
