We are very fortunate to have a PTA that is such an integral part of the school community. FOSS provides an excellent way to bring staff, parents, grandparents and friends together socially in support of the school, working towards a common goal and respecting the school’s morals as well as making lots of money!
If you are interested in joing FOSS please see our “New Members” form
Like most PTAs, the majority of our funds are raised through the events we run, these include Christmas Fayres; Summer Fetes; Quiz and Bingo nights; Discos and non-uniform days.
Participants of the 100 Club pay £2 a month per number which entitles them to be entered into a monthly cash prize draw. If you, a family member or friend would like to join the 100 Club, please pick up a joining form from the carousel by the school office, speak to a member of the FOSS team or email us at foss0999@yahoo.co.uk. You too could win money at the same time as helping to raise funds for our school.
You can also help our school to raise funds whilst doing your internet shopping through the Giving Machine. All you need to do is log onto www.thegivingmachine.co.uk and follow the instructions.
Bicester’s newest Estate Agents, Barton Fleming have set up a Money for Schools Programme. They will donate 10% of the vendor’s commission fee to their nominated school upon completion of the house sale. If you or any of your family members or friends are thinking of moving and wish to use Barton Fleming be sure to nominate Southwold School!
Over the years we have raised funds to pay for the adventure playground, to revamp the library and provide equipment to enable the children to undertake arts and crafts activities. We have also provided play sand for the Foundation Stage, paid for specialist support for those children who need additional help with their reading and bought equipment for the music and science departments. All bids, no matter how small or large, are duly considered by the committee.
There are many ways in which you can get involved with FOSS and we would love to have you on board! If you can offer any ad hoc help or would be interested in joining the committee on a more formal basis, please speak to a member of the FOSS team or contact us via our email address which is: foss0999@yahoo.co.uk. We would also love to hear about any fundraising ideas that you may have.
There are a number of ways you can keep up to date with FOSS activities. Regular newsletters are sent out via book bags; we have two notice boards in school (one is located near the Reception class rooms and the other by years 2 and 3); details of our events are detailed on the School’s website and you can choose to follow us on Facebook and Twitter. You can also contact us via our dedicated FOSS email account at foss0999@yahoo.co.uk This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.”>
